Various Views of Miami
Hanging in Miami
Its been long hours of working events, but a lot of fun. I’ve been meeting lots of really cool and interesting people. Below are some pics of some of the people I’ve met so far.
Raphael a journalist from Venezuela.
A journalist from Venezuela whom I took on a Tesla test drive.
This is the TAG crew that put on the event. A big thanks to all of them. They did an amazing job. It was an awesome event.
OK, ignore the goofy grin on my face, but here is Rob AKA Vanilla Ice. We got to chat a little and he has a new album coming out and he just finished a TV series that will air soon. Down to earth and awesome!
Vivien, our French camera man/director/producer that is on the tour to capture as much as possible of the tour and all the places we go.
Ice in the Roadster.
This was the day we gave roadster test drives to all the Latin-American journalists. Now this bunch was really enthusiastic. They loved the roadster!
This is Iris from the Florida Tesla store in Dania Beach. She was a lot of fun to work with.
This is Nelly and Vanessa from TAG Heuer and they were a lot of fun to work with.
Leaving Orlando
After our short stay in Orlando we headed for Miami. The mileage wasn’t so bad, although getting into downtown Miami with a van and trailer was not very conducive when our hotel only had underground parking. So we had to drive back out and drop off the trailer at the local Tesla store. The van was big enough and barely cleared the underground parking.
So far Miami is amazing and I’m learning all the cool places to be. We worked several events on Miami Beach several miles away and over the causeway which is basically a bridge highway. The Miami area is a bunch of islands bridged together. Really cool and amazing.
The next several pics are of the Mondrian hotel on Miami Beach, which is a very POSH island with lots of expensive hotels and amazing views.
Leaving Pensacola
Not much in Pensacola. Basically a Navy town. We decided to head down highway 98 along the ocean for awhile to breakup the monotony of driving I-10 the whole way. This picture shows a little of what we saw. It wasn’t way out of our way, just a little scenic for the first part of the driving to Orlando.
Orlando looked great, but we didn’t have any time to do anything interesting. But this town is definitely earmarked for a return trip to check out and enjoy.
Leaving Baton Rouge
A few pics in Phoenix
Our Phoenix hotel.
Nothing special.
A Phoenix sunset.
Something special, the TAG roadster
Leaving Phoenix and heading for El Paso!
Somewhere between Tuscan and El Paso.
Somewhere between El Paso and San Antonio at a fuel stop.
The drive from El Paso to San Antonio was long and grueling. Texas is a very big state.
We were going to stay in San Antonio, but we had to keep going on to Houston to make it on time for the schedule.
We leave momentarily for Baton Rouge. See you all later!
Arriving in Phoenix
Las Vegas to Phoenix
Phoenix to El Paso
Leaving Las Vegas
It’s an early wake up call for me. I have to check out, get all the gear ready to go, and go to the roadster.
I shot the sunrise from my hotel room window. It was sometime before 6am. I think? I was still asleep…
Here’s the roadster charging in Vegas at a KOA next to the Circus Circus Casino. We were getting it ready to go on the road to Phoenix.
On the way to Phoenix, we stopped at Hoover Dam for a photo op. I didn’t get any pics at the dam, but I should be getting some from our camera guy and then I’ll post them here. So check back later.
For the Hoover Dam photo op, we rented a helicopter to shoot the car. It was intense, but a lot of fun. I was directing the pilot while our camera guy was shooting the roadster on the dam. Again, as soon as I get some of those pics, I will post them here.
Last night in Vegas
I went to see Bonnie Mizell at Napoleon’s at the Paris Casino. She puts on an amazing show with her singing and piano playing. Her co-performer was pretty good as well, but Bonnie is an amazing talent. I can’t say enough. If you want to check her music out, go to: www.bonniemizell.com
Here are a few pictures of the Paris Casino and Bonnie at Napoleon’s.
A fun shot of the tower.
In the Paris Casino with the cloud painted ceilings.
A fountain and sculpture.
Bonnie performing.
Another one of Bonnie performing.
Here’s a picture of Bonnie and I. She cares about her fans as much as they care about her, maybe even more. If you’re in Vegas, check out her show, just go to her site for her schedule and times.
